Nestled on the banks of the River Laboreiro, we find these two old mills called Moinho do Poço Verde and Casa do Moinho!
They have been restored to comfortably welcome all those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and allow themselves to be lulled by the sound of the fresh waters of the Laboreiro River, which once turned the millstones that skilfully ground not only cereals but also cocoa. This is because these mills supported the grinding necessary for the chocolate factory that existed in the same place, dating from the early 20th century.
Well equipped and comfortably decorated, they invite long conversations by the fireplace in winter or, in summer, a refreshing dip in the Laboreiro River or in the natural pools of Poço Verde, located next to these mills and which give their name to this place.
Each of the mills has a kitchenette with a fridge, electric hob and microwave, a living room with a sofa bed and fireplace, and a bathroom with a shower. Climbing the iron stairs, you will find a mezzanine with a double bed.
A short distance away is the village of Castro Laboreiro, with its rich archaeological and landscape heritage, which easily captivates those who feel at home in nature. The nearby trails lead guests to discover the rich biodiversity of the National Park, making this accommodation the perfect place for hiking enthusiasts.
Here you will undoubtedly find a sheltered place of pure freedom and well-being, a serene refuge to relax, testimony to the ability to preserve the past while embracing the present, in short, a true treasure within the Peneda-Gerês National Park, which dates back to 1998.
These mills share the beauty of the place. Both can be rented individually or together and exclusively!
Come relax and enjoy everything Castro Laboreiro has to offer!
